In the « What’s new » chapter of the Kangaroo Foundation home page (http://kangaroo.javeriana.edu.co), you can now download the report of the last International meeting on KMC held in Cleveland last October 2006. In the report you will find a link to download a interesting bibliography on KMC wrote and updated and commented by Dr Susan Ludington.
It is a short report we did for those who could not assist to the meeting. The next meeting will be held in Uppsala, Sweden around October-November 2008, keep this date in mind for your agenda. See you soon in Uppsala!!

First European Conference on KMC and VII International Workshop
Dear Friend
As usual, the Kangaroo Foundation ( http://kangaroo.javeriana.edu.co ) is happy to provide access to a short summary of the activities of the VII International Workshop on KMC, held last October in Uppsala, Sweden. “Kangarologists” from 37 countries together with representatives from WHO, SNL, Save the Children, among others, met in this workshop.
The International Workshop was preceded by the First European Conference of KMC, attended by 30 members of Neonatal Units from 15 European countries.
KMC should be available to any and all preterm and LBW infants all over the world, regardless of place of birth, race, religion, culture and socioeconomic status. We all should keep on fighting for making KMC accessible to all families who may need it and any and all efforts are welcome.
Another new document is available on the webside of the foundation ( in what's new) It is the new Evidence based Guidelines of the Kangaroo Mother Care Method, it is a really very interesting document which can be usefull for all the professionals interested in KMC.
